Compared to traditional glass pipes where the carb which is located at the side of the bowl and allows air to flow into the chamber, the carb of a steam roller is positioned at the end of the pipe. This allows for the air to travel straight forward through the pipe. The key difference between pipes and steamrollers is that pipes give you a gradual hit, while a steam roller will build smoke in the chamber and once the user removes their fingers from the front carb, the steam roller will release a big hit.
